Autumn leaves are appearing along the Truckee, mule’s ears in the high mountain meadows are dried up and rattling in the breeze, and frost has assassinated my geraniums. Hard to believe we’re almost halfway through fall. Pretty soon Nevada Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Family Day will signal the approaching finals storm, and then a much-deserved winter break.
